Home/About: Caribbean Literature

GRANTLEY ADAMS INT'L AIRPORT 2013.jpg
My wife and I at the Grantley Adams Int’l Airport in Barbados (2013)

Growing up in the tiny, suburban community of New Village in Castries, the capital city of Saint Lucia (Caribbean), was tough.

Stories provided me with a means of escape. I read everything – from Grimm’s Fairy Tales to Hans Christian Andersen’s Fairy Tales to Watership Down to I Never Promised You A Rose Garden and everything betwixt and between. I was often lost in the magic of those stories.

Today, I still read, albeit at a more moderate pace. But, I also write my own stories – stories that I want to share with the world.

It is my sincere hope that my stories give you the means of escape to another place, where your senses take flight and you become lost for a brief moment.

  1. Welcome to WordPress. I’m so happy to see that your page is up now, and I look forward to following you.

I was a reader as a child, and well remember those pleasures. I started my own blog as a way to learn to write. I’m convinced there’s no better way — and we get to share one another’s stories on the way.

Thanks again for stopping by, and for commenting. I’ve left a response for you there.

Best wishes to both you and your wife.

    1. Thank you so much. I’m new to blogging and don’t quite have the hang of it yet. I suppose I’ll learn as I go along.

You’re right. Sharing this way does enhance the learning process and makes us better at our craft.

  2. I always enjoy what you write, my brother. God’s blessings and all the best in your endeavours.

  3. I enjoy your writing immensely and will continue to follow your stories & commentary. I myself am a writer but have not been able to commit to regular updating my blog. I hope to change that in the coming year. Keep up the good work, proud of you.
